Prof. Adesegun is a teaching and research staff and current Head of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Lagos. He is a Fulbright scholar, Natural Product Drug Discovery and Development specialist with focus on antimalarials, neuroprotectives, antidiabetes, antiinfectives and antisickling agents. He had undergraduate degree in Pharmacy at Obafemi Awolowo University; Master in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Ph.D. in Natural Product Chemistry in the University of Lagos, predoctoral and postdoctoral trainings at University of Mississippi, USA and University of Surrey, United Kingdom respectively under the renowned natural product scientists, Prof. Mark Hamann and Prof. Dulcie Mulholland. He has over 20 years of experience, mentored over 100 students with 10 membership of professional and academic groups with over 50 publications, won and managed many research grants.
